Ms. Peterson has more than 35 years of experience in public and community health. Her work is focused on issues that disproportionately impact minority and low-income populations. She is the chief executive officer of Hamilton Health Center and has held numerous executive management positions, including that of Deputy Director for a federally funded Technical Assistance Project for a national consulting firm.
Ms. Peterson has served as Deputy Secretary of Health for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for eight years, where she was responsible for administering the state’s drug and alcohol program, maternal and child health program, and preventative and communicable disease programs.
She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Ms. Peterson is also a graduate of the Johnson & Johnson/UCLA Health Care Executive Management Program and is on the board of directors of several local organizations.
