Dr. Zimmer Paul co-founded a national membership program in patient safety, quality, and risk, supporting 14 states. With over 20 years of experience, she is a national expert in workflow improvement, patient safety, and health IT. She has advised healthcare organizations, technology vendors, and startups, improving patient care through data analysis, creating strategic tools, and relationship-building.
Dr. Zimmer Paul has held positions at Johns Hopkins, Thomas Jefferson University, Nemours, and the ECRI Institute. She has spoken at conferences, published articles, and served on national boards and committees, advising CEOs and Presidents.
Active with her alma mater, Cornell University, she was granted Emeriti Trustee status and serves as a Presidential Counselor Advisor. She also served on the Cornell Weill Medical Center Board of Alumni and as a Dean’s Council member.
Currently, Dr. Zimmer Paul is an Associate Professor at Jefferson and an affiliate staff at Nemours. She previously served as Medical Director for the Patient Safety, Risk, and Quality Group, co-founded the ECRI Institute Patient Safety Organization, and was interim Director for the Pennsylvania Safety Authority.
Dr. Zimmer Paul received her medical degree from Cornell, completed a Pediatrics residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, and a General Academic Pediatrics fellowship and MPH at Johns Hopkins. She is board certified in Clinical Informatics and Pediatrics.and Pediatrics.
