Monique D. Hendricks, MGA

Regional Executive Director, Gaudenzia DRC

Monique Hendricks brings over three decades of leadership in the criminal justice field, with a career spanning roles in Philadelphia County and the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PA DOC). Her work has intersected with federal, state, and county systems, as well as both for-profit and nonprofit organizations focused on substance use disorders (SUD), mental health (MH), and co-occurring populations.

Throughout her twelve-year tenure with the PA DOC, Ms. Hendricks held key positions including oversight of the PA DOC Training Academy and leadership in institutional audit compliance and community resource development. Her passion for service led her to specialize in Community Corrections, where she championed the development of programs that support justice-involved individuals in their transition back into society.

Ms. Hendricks joined Gaudenzia with a deep alignment to the organization’s mission and values. In her previous role as Eastern Region Deputy Director, she oversaw four divisions of care, including assessments, withdrawal management, residential and outpatient services, and mental health housing. Today, she leads the Diagnostic Rehabilitation Center (DRC), a community corrections facility serving over 200 men on parole from the PA DOC. Under her leadership, DRC offers a comprehensive continuum of care—ranging from residential SUD treatment and outpatient services to halfway housing, workforce development, and reintegration planning.

Monique holds a Master’s in Governmental Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s in Administration of Justice from Pennsylvania State University. She serves on the Board of Victim Witness Services of South Philly (VWSSP) and is a member of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice (NABCJ).

Why I chose Gaudenzia:

“Over the past twenty years, I’ve watched Gaudenzia consistently prioritize the needs of those seeking help and healing. When others said, ‘We can’t,’ Gaudenzia asked, ‘How can we help?’ As one of the first treatment providers to enter the state prison system, Gaudenzia offered hope and dignity to incarcerated individuals. That unwavering commitment to service is why I chose to be part of this mission — every day, all day.”
