Erie, PA – August 24, 2020 – Due to regulations from our state and local officials as well as our commitment to the safety of our participants, staff and clients, Gaudenzia Erie, Inc. has canceled this year’s Annual Race for Recovery, which was going to be held on Saturday, September 26 at Presque Isle State Park’s Rotary Pavilion.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Gaudenzia Erie, Inc. has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Race for Recovery. We appreciate the support from the community, and we look forward to a successful race in 2021”, said Jeff Shaw, Gaudenzia Board Member and Race Director.

As a way to support the organization and its 10 facilities throughout Erie County, Gaudenzia Erie, Inc. is asking people to consider making a donation so that they can continue to provide care to anyone who needs help in their recovery from addiction.

“For more than two decades, Gaudenzia Erie Inc.’s Annual Race for Recovery has been our signature fundraising event and helps us continue our mission of treating men and women in addiction recovery at any level of care, regardless of their ability to pay,” said Jason Kisielewski, Gaudenzia Erie, Inc.’s Community Affairs Manager. “While we won’t be holding the event this year, we still welcome support from the community to help people who are battling addiction.”

If you would like to make a donation, please visit our 2020 Race For Recovery page or contact Jason Kisielewski, Community Affairs Manager, at (814) 746-4184 or by email at jkisielewski@gaudenzia.org.
