Dear Friends of Gaudenzia:
We are pleased to inform you that Daniel J. Hilferty, President, Health Markets, Independence Blue Cross, has been chosen to receive the annual Gaudenzia/Gustave G. Amsterdam Community Champion Award on May 11, 2010 at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel in Philadelphia. Gaudenzia, Inc. is Pennsylvania’s largest provider of substance abuse and related mental illness treatment and prevention programs.
Dan Hilferty is a passionate advocate for better health care and for healthy communities. He has devoted his career to strengthening health care access, policy and delivery systems. Dan has used his leadership to bring together health care providers, insurers and community organizations to develop innovative and effective approaches to addressing health care issues. His commitment to the community has been recognized locally and nationally, and he serves on the Boards of Saint Joseph’s University, the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition, Drexel Neumann Academy and the Irish Educational Development Foundation.
As the award dinner Honoree Co-Chairpersons, we invite you to join us in honoring Dan Hilferty. Current economic conditions and general reductions in public funding, support, and services have greatly impacted drug and alcohol treatment and prevention programs state-wide and nationally. Your participation in this event will raise funds critical to the ongoing vitality of Gaudenzia’s programs, as well as helping its clients to gain sobriety, recovery, self-esteem and responsibility.
The enclosed materials and information describe the various ways in which you can participate in our annual Gaudenzia/Gustave G. Amsterdam Community Champion Award Dinner and Auction. We would like to include your company name on the invitation and can do so if we hear from you by March 1, 2010.
We look forward to hosting you and having you join with Independence Blue Cross and the CDI Corporation by participating in this worthwhile event. Gaudenzia and its clients are most grateful for your support and generosity.
Sincerely,
Christopher D. Butler
