National Recovery Month

Supporting those in recovery and honoring the lives that have been lost

Nat'l Recovery Month logoSeptember traditionally marks the start of fall as the leaves on the trees start to change into warm, autumn colors. However, one color that also comes to life in September is purple, which is the theme color to announce the support of those in recovery and to honor the ones that we have lost to substance use disorder.

Throughout the United States, purple lights go up while recovery walks, concerts, and events go down. Each year, Gaudenzia proudly supports community events across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.

For more than 50 years, Gaudenzia has been providing quality treatment services to anyone seeking a new way of life. Recovery is a process, and there is no one single solution to a life of sobriety. There isn’t just one pathway that works for everyone or a “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to treatment. Gaudenzia is proud to be a part of that process and salutes all of those individuals in recovery while we also pause to remember those who have lost their battle with addiction.

Throughout Gaudenzia, activities are taking place in celebration of National Recovery Month. Recovery does indeed happen, and this is a month to celebrate. There is hope, and we will recover and celebrate all of those individuals who made the hardest choice of their life: the triumph to put down the drink or drug.

Gaudenzia would like to wish everyone in recovery or who has been touched by addiction the very best. May the spirit of National Recovery Month last you a lifetime!
