On June 20, the Eastern Region Graduation was held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. 93 individuals graduated in the presence of more than 600 family members and friends. Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter was the Keynote speaker. The 2009 Joe Lewis Humanitarian award was presented to Forrest Tarver, Program Supervisor at Progress House and an employee of Gaudenzia for over 20 years. A medallion was presented to Honorary Graduate Dorothy Mason, Continuing Care Specialist, at Gaudenzia West Chester House.
