LENGTH OF STAY: Variable

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:
Referrals are made directly to the Siena House Community Corrections Center or Chemical Dependency Treatment Program from the State Correctional Institutions, Parole Agents, Half-Way Back or the State Substance Abuse Violators Effort (SAVE) programs.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTONS:
The Community Corrections Center is designed to successfully reintegrate individuals back into the community. Referrals are made directly from the State Correctional Institutions and Boot Camps. Time will be focused on learning new skills and habits that will promote a more successful transition into society. Programming also includes learning how to maintain a drug free lifestyle, develop a positive support system, secure and maintain employment, advance education, and provide an opportunity to utilize new skills to enhance other areas of an individual’s life.

Chemical Dependency Treatment Program uses the therapeutic community (TC) model that is uniquely suited for criminal justice populations. The primary goal of a TC is to foster personal growth. This is accomplished by changing an individual’s lifestyle through the community of recovering people working together to help themselves and each other.

The treatment program is a highly structured with defined boundaries, both moral and behavioral. It employs community-imposed sanctions and penalties as part of the recovery process. Being part of something greater than oneself is an especially important factor in facilitating growth.

The resident receives a family assessment during the admission process. The assessment determines the level of involvement of the family. The Family Education Program is held (family members only) on a weekly basis and family counseling is held monthly or more often if deemed necessary by the primary counselor.

A structured Vocational Program provides vocational/employment readiness and stability for residents. The vocational program consists of seminars, role-plays, resume’ development, interviewing skills, appropriate attire, budgeting and how to conduct a job search.
