PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Landover has been providing outpatient services to chemically dependent adults since 2002. Like other Gaudenzia programs, the Landover curriculum is built upon a combination of a cognitive-behavioral curriculum and the principles of the Therapeutic Community. The program incorporates a continuum of techniques and models to accomplish the central goals of outpatient addiction treatment; namely, to instill skills which will enable clients to maintain abstinence, identify addictive behaviors, prevent relapse, construct/reconstruct a safe and sober living environment, secure stable employment, advocate for their own needs and utilize community resources for assistance. We strongly encourage the use of 12-Step groups as additional support and as the foundation of a recovery-based lifestyle following the completion of treatment. Each client’s treatment plan is developed collaboratively with his/her clinician based upon individual needs.

SERVICES OFFERED:

• Group and individual counseling
• Case management
• Chemical dependency assessments
• Referrals
• 6-week HIV/AIDS education and awareness group in collaboration with the Maryland AIDS Administration
• Urine drug screening

FUNDING:

• Sliding scale available for those who reside in Prince George’s County or have involvement with the Prince George’s County criminal justice system
• Clients accessing treatment through the United States Probation and Pre-Trial Services Office may attend treatment at no charge to them.
• The 6-week HIV group is available for no charge to clients through a generous grant from the Maryland AIDS Administration
