PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION:
Philly House is a 32 bed Community Corrections Center that provides
supportive services for chemically dependent men returning to the
community from prison. The primary goal of the program is to foster
personal growth through a continuum of care that supports recovery.
This is accomplished by changing the individual's lifestyle through
a community of concerned people working together to help themselves
and each other.
The
program is a highly structured environment with defined boundaries.
It employs community-imposed sanctions and penalties as well as earned
advancement of status and privileges as part of the recovery process.
Peer pressure is often the catalyst that converts criticism and insight
into positive change. Insight into one's problems is gained through
group and individual interaction.
