Criteria for Admission:
- Individuals incarcerated in the Maryland State criminal justice system and referred by the Case Management Department of their institution.
- Males aged 18 years & older
- Must be experiencing problematic drug and/or alcohol use as defined by a significant Addiction Severity Index Score.
Program Description:
Gaudenzia has contracted with the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional services (DPSCS) to provide substance abuse treatment services for incarcerated men. Gaudenzia implemented an in-prison modified therapeutic community treatment program at the Maryland Correctional Training Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. The therapeutic community model uses the community as the method of treatment to create a highly structured daily program. Structured milieu is enhanced with individual and group counseling.
