PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Joy of Living is a long term residential facility for Philadelphia’s chronically homeless persons who have a diagnosed mental illness and who are chemically dependent. Inpatient care is available for both males and females in a renovated facility licensed as a personal care boarding home. The program is designed for individuals who have made their residence on the streets of Philadelphia. It is intended to provide shelter, provide the support for recovery from addiction and stabilize the symptoms of chronic mental illness.

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSIONS:

  • Homeless Adults
  • Dually Diagnosed (substance abusing and mentally ill)
  • Resident of Philadelphia

Individual and Group Counseling
Treatment Planning
Life Skills Training
Medication Management
Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings
Narcotics Anonymous Meetings
Education Sessions

FUNDING:
Philadelphia Office of MH/MR
Residents are charged monthly fees based on their income
