CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:

The individual must be an inmate of Cumberland County Prison who has a chemical dependency problem. Referrals may be made through the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist at Cumberland County Prison.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Gaudenzia West Shore Outpatient Services contracts with the Cunberland County Prison to provide drug and alcohol education and treatment within the prison. The New Directions Program is drug and alcohol treatment that includes individual and group counseling. A curriculum has been developed for inmates who participate in substance abuse education groups operation on an eight-week cycle. There is a individualized treatment plan designed to meet each inmate's issues surrounding substance abuse including verbal and physical abuse, job loss and negative relationships.
