INTRODUCTION TO COUNSELING

This course uses lecture and role play to teach the basic theories of counseling and create a skill base for entry-level clinicians. Counseling theories include Rogerian, Gestalt, Glaser’s Reality therapy, etc. Participants are assisted with creating an eclectic approach to counseling sessions.

Course Goals Include:

  • Facilitating an understanding of the theories of behavior and related counseling techniques;
  • Affording clinicians the opportunity to try different types of counseling techniques;
