This course is designed to provide all Healthcare and Human Services Professionals gain an understanding that cognitive behavioral interventions are based on the simple principle that thinking (an internal behavior) controls our actions (external behavior). Therefore, by teaching clients to focus on the content of their thinking, they can take charge of their lives, and lead more effective lives, as well as change their antisocial beliefs to pro-social ones.

Course Goals Include:

  • Developing a clear understanding of Cognitive Self- Change – We take charge of our lives and lead more effective lives by taking control of our ways of thinking;font>
  • Introducing the basic concept of cognitiverestructuring – our thinking controls ours behavior;
  • Learning to teach clients the connection between their thoughts, related feelings/emotions and their behavior;
  • Identifying irrational beliefs and how to challenge them;
